Venture Production plc arranges $475 Private Placement through
Schechter & Co. Limited
Schechter & Co. Limited arranged a $475 million, dual currency private placement for Venture Product plc; a UK listed oil and gas exploration and production company with a focus on developing stranded reserves in the North Sea. The financing structure consisted of $424 million of ten and fifteen year senior notes and £25 million of ten year senior notes placed with 13 institutional investors.
This transaction was widely credited as the largest traditional cross border private placement out of Europe in 2007 and the largest private placement ever for a North Sea independent oil and gas producer.
Marie-Louise Clayton, Finance Director, said:
"This new financing represents another step forward in Venture's development. In particular the willingness of financial institutions to make available medium and longterm debt facilities is an unequivocal vote of confidence in the sustainability of both Venture and the North Sea. We are particularly pleased to have completed these financings in the current challenging conditions in the global debt markets."
